The Six-Day "August Mahseer Fishing Adventure"

TRIP BREIFING: This fishing adventure is timed perfectly to the return of the Mahseer from their spawning grounds. This is a consistent and productive fishery that is most active in the month of August. The trip is based in the North Indian state of Himalchal Pradesh and is a relatively easy access trip that involves great Mahseer fishing opportunities on flies, lures, live bait and trolling.

  • A productive and versatile trip run only in August.

  • Fish the down stream migration prime time for this river system.

  • Plenty of opportunity to catch some Mahseer on fly and spinning.

  • Fish a productive river and lake.

  • A special trip limited to just three (3) anglers per trip.

The Himalayan Outback brings to you a fishing opportunity in August - at a time when most Himalayan rivers are unfishable, due to the rainy season in the Himalayas. We have discovered this one river that feeds into a dam, which is very productive in the month of August, as the Mahseer return from their favourite spawning grounds. Over the years, Misty and his team have had some excellent sport here, especially in this time frame.

The river at the point we fish, meets a lake, an ideal spot to assault the fish on their way down river at the end of the spawning. To make this adventure even more exciting and versatile we use our boats, to take anglers into the reservoir, so you can troll for the Mahseer.

This river offers some good fly fishing, as it is small and you can cover a lot of water, even on a single handed rod.
